Change Mobile Operator without Changing Mobile Number

In India, Mobile phone usage is increased in a tremendous way. There are many mobile service providers / operators in India. Aircel, Airtel, Hutch, Idea, Spice, Reliance, Vodafone, BSNL, MTL are some of the major GSM and CDMA operators.

So users who are using any operator cannot switch to another operator by maintaining the same mobile number before. This is called as Mobile Number Portablity (MNP). For example, I have Hutch and for some reasons I want to switch the operator from Hutch to Airtel then I have to change the number also.

Now it is possible in India, Using this you can easily switch from one operator to another operator without changing the mobile number. So your friends / relatives can still call to your old number even you have changed from one operator to another operator. (Ex: Airtel-Aircel, Hutch-BSNL, Aircel-Airtel, Idea-Airtel...) So any combination is possible. If you are using GSM / CDMA  Prepaid / Postpaid it does not a matter to switch from an operator to another operator.
Some important points:

* You should not change from an operator to another operator within 90 days of your Sim purchase.
* You should clear all your bills from your existing operator.
* Once you apply for operator change it will be processed within seven days.
* Some special fees there to change from one operator to another. If you like to change from any operator to BSNL, there are no fees.
* You have to pay for the new Sim card.
